A Social Enterprise

Independence Matters is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) which means that any profits made are retained by the CIC and reinvested back into the services we provide or the local community.

We are a local authority trading company (LATCO) of Norfolk County Council.

Colleagues and the people we support benefit through greater involvement in the running of the business and our governance structure includes Colleague and Customer Directors to advise the Company Board. Through this structure, the commitment of valued staff and the people we support can be structurally connected to the needs of the business.

Independence Matters is large enough to provide a countywide service and yet small enough to have the interests of the community we serve, customers, carers and colleagues at the heart of all we do.
